RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS

Once I read it I decided that it was very helpful Despite it was so brief book, but I think it's a kind of advantage (to be brief and serviceable)

Read the following part of this book in the section of Antidepressant Medications To Judge it:
SYMPTOMS:
Every child can be sad occasionally. However, to be diagnosed with depression, the child’s symptoms must be present for at least two (2) weeks and represent a change from previous functioning. One of the following two (2) symptoms must be present: 1) depressed mood, or 2) loss of interest or pleasure. In addition, at least some of the following symptoms are present:

· Depressed mood most of the day
· Diminished interest or pleasure in all activities most of the day.
· Significant weight loss or weight gain
· Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much
· Difficulty sitting still (restlessness) or slowing of movement
· Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
· Trouble concentrating
· Repeated thoughts of death
